Why reviews matter here

Reviews do two jobs

Reviews help people find you and pick you.

A business owner comparing two advisors is not really checking credentials. They want to know who they can trust. Reviews answer that. Your own website cannot.

They move you up

More reviews mean higher search rankings and better matches.

They get you quoted

AI tools pull from what other people write about you.

They speed up the sale

Someone who’s read five reviews shows up ready to talk.

Reviews are proof. Proof builds trust. Trust gets you the call.

Step by step

How to get a review in four steps

Send a short, personal note to a client you just helped. Wording is on page 5. Include your custom review URL, not your homepage listing. If they have to hunt for it, most people quit.

1

Go to your review page

Log in. Open your listing. Click the ‘Write a Review’ button.

2

Copy your custom review URL

The Review page URL is custom to your listing. Save it for easy future access. Add it to your email signature.

3

Request a review

Send an email to the client you just helped. See page 5 for helpful copy.

4

Send the link

Use the custom review link, not your homepage. Make it easy to leave a review.

The Send Message and Write a Review buttons on an advisor listing
technologyadvisor.com/portland/technology-advisor/your-company/writeareview

These buttons sit at the top of your listing. Click ‘Write a Review’ then copy the URL that loads.

Expect this. Logged in to your own account you will see a yellow bar: “You cannot submit a review for your own profile.” Copy the URL anyway. It works for your clients.

What your client sees

Here’s the form the client will see: no account to create, nothing to sign up for. They can click the link and complete the review. Their email address is used for authenticity only. Their privacy is always maintained.

The review form a client fills out
What to tell them if they ask
  • Their email is never shown. It only proves the review is real
  • The review will only display their name or company name as ‘Submitted by…’
  • They rate service, responsiveness, expertise, results, and communication
  • Nothing is required beyond what you see here
  • Most people finish in a few short minutes
